Hunting for Bose headphones

Texas Tech's coach Tommy Tuberville actually hit assistant coach Kevin Oliver during the game, according to a Nov. 10 report from Yahoo Sports. In fact, the unexpected violence was so stunning that the TV announcers seemed stunned and did not even know what to say after it happened.

During the game, Tommy Tuberville was obviously angry after Texas Tech got caught with an extra player on the field during a fourth and two play, and he knocked Kevin Oliver's headset off, knocking off his hat in the process. Of course, by the end of the game, he had an explanation prepared. Even so, it does not quite provide an appropriate account of what happened.

"He was on the field, I reached sol republic to grab him and pull him off, and when I pulled I missed his shirt and I grabbed his popsolrepublic.com facemask - or his microphone - and it just ripped off his head. I was trying to get him off the field."

Those who were watching certainly did not see it that way. Did you see the game live? If not, check out the video. What do you think? Was the Texas Tech coach just trying to get the graduate assistant coach off the field, or did he actually hit Kevin Oliver in anger? It certainly seems like he hit the coach in anger.

It is very likely that Coach Tuberville was so angry that he did not even realize what he was doing. Even so, it was not okay for him to hit graduate assistant coach Kevin Oliver. Coaches get angry, but they have to control themselves just like everybody else.
